Oh hey Honey

Hello people,

Let's talk about serums. I haven't really fully used a serum as such. I never bought one. I do think sometimes I need it but I just don't want to invest my money in it. Also the research you have to do for a good serum is very long and let's be honest I would rather be lazy.
A good way to discover new products is by ordering beauty boxes. I got this little thing from Glossy Box.
This is a Hey Honey honey silk serum that has loads of goods in it. It has silk amino acids, vitamin E, buckthorn oil to make your skin moisturised and radiant. It is all natural. You are suppose to apply it under your moisturiser or primer and it hydrates your skin and makes it silky soft and also gives a little glow.
The honey is antiseptic and it is suppose to protect your skin from the bacteria.
I must agree with the hydration, glowing and making your skin silky, it really does that but I still got some spots but maybe it did make it better, I couldn't tell.
Now the price of this is rocket high. On their website it says that the full size (30ml) is $41 and the travel size (10ml) is $15.
The only good thing about this is that it lasts forever. You only need the tiniest little bit.
Not gonna lie I really liked this serums. I am thinking about it and it was really nice on my skin and since I don't need a heavy duty serum I think this is the best for my kind of skin (or young skin).
I do wanna try other serums to compare. I will not spend a fortune on a serum as I do not have that luxury so I will try my best to find something good on a cheap side. Maybe I should try TKMaxx they seem to have quite a good skincare range.

Do you use serums? What are they? What's the difference?

Give your skin a drink

Hello from the Lush store,

I love Lush and their new innovations and products. I don't have a bath so I cannot enjoy their seasonal bath bombs but I do enjoy other products. Their face range is kind of newish and I love it. I must say it is pricey but it is very nice and it also last a while.
This moisturiser costs £13.95 for a 45ml tub which is a little bit less than normal tubs. It has sesame oil and rose petals and primrose oil to really moisturise your skin and give some TLC. It smells very nice and fresh. It does have a little hint of rose but not that much.
It is literally a skin drink. I use it for the night mostly and it gives my face some grease like it deserves after a long day of wearing make up and sun. However, I don't wake up greasy, I wake up hydrated.
I love this product and I am trying a few other moisturisers they have so I will keep you updated.
If you are looking for something organic to help your skin especially for the winter months I really recommend this product. And also don't forget to keep the empty tubs (washed of course) when you have 6 (I think) you can get a free product!

No to Yes to

I have seen Yes To range for so long and I was very curious to see how these products work. I knew they are natural and very good for your skin so when I was on a hunt for a night cream I thought I would try this.
To be honest I don't think it did much. It is a cream and it moisturises but I wish it was richer for a night cream. It felt like a day cream.
HOWEVER, it breaks me out! I am shocked how can something natural break me out but it does. I have tried it three times and all those times it broke me out. I never get acne spots but with this cream I did. It also had that unpleasant carroty smell that would linger after you put the cream on for a bit.
I was so disappointed. This cost me £9.99 and I really want my money back.

What are your experiences with Yes to? What should I try?

Ultra Cleansing Pads

I have heard about these Cleansing Pads from Caroline Hirons. If you don't know who she is I recommend you to check her out here. She is a skin care specialist and she always talks about really good skincare and how to use it and why. I have tried Nip+ Fab Cleanings Pads and they were cleansing but I wanted more from them. Now I am about half way though Clearasil and I must say I love love love it.
It says that it reduces oil & shine - I don't know maybe a little but then again I don't have oily skin and it certainly doesn't dry mine out.
Unblocks Pores - well I never believe this statement, it is exfoliating so it maybe cleans them out. I suppose unblocking is a better word for cleaning.
Evens skin tone - ah I doubt that.
Removes dirt and Exfoliates which is essentially the same as unblocking pores.
Yes it is exfoliating and I love that because it is not messy. You take a pad, I think one side is a little sharper than the other and you exfoliate. I always wash my face after using this or any cleansing product to be honest, I just don't like them on my skin.
This smells strongly of spirit. It smells so strong it will make your eyes water. It has salicylic and citric acids that are good for killing bacterial so trust me your face will feel super clean.
It cost £5.99 and you'll find 65 pads in a tub, which I think it is a good value for money.
Since I started using cleansing pads I noticed that my spots had a little chill. They do come on but not as often or as many as I used to have. They also heal fast.
I really like the fact that it is exfoliating as I don't need a separate exfoliating product and it is softer than some exfoliating products. You also just need one pad to do your whole face. I usually do mine after I had full face of make up, before I go to bed. I'd love to go to be with really cleans skin that's the only reason why I use it at night. On the days I don't wear make up I tend to use face wash and call it a day.

What are your exfoliating go to products? How do you fight your spots?

Pure & Natural

Nivea can be hit and miss. By miss I don't mean completely inadequate, I mean - average. Some Nivea products can be great and even amazing, real value for the money but sometimes you just feel 'meh' about it.
Long story short I actually like this cream for the time I used it. I probably not gonna buy it again as there are plenty of moisturisers that does what this does. However, it did leave a good memory. I was very strange with the smell of this product. I liked the smell of it during the day but not before bed. I usually used this as my night moisturiser. In fact this moisturiser changed my mind about night creams. I was always the girl that didn't want to go to bed with make up or a greasy face from the moisturiser, now I love the greasy face stage. I feel like I am giving some love to my face because I am letting all the grease to sink in during the night. It also feels like beauty sleep.
The other reason why I am excited about Nivea is because it so so easy to find in stores and they have reasonable prices. This moisturiser you can find practically everywhere and it is about £6 but they always put it on some sort of a deal.
I am not super impressed with this moisturiser but it is in my good graces. If you are looking for something affordable and simple I highly recommend checking out Nivea range. It has so many different types of moisturisers I can promise you'll find something that is just for you.

Which Nivea product is your favourite and why?

Bio-cellulose Facial Mask

The additional product to this special Glossybox was bio-cellulose facial mask.
I love trying new masks and I particular like the cloth masks. They are a lot easier to apply and discard and they don't dry out on your face. They have a hydrating and brightening job, you can wear these masks for longer. I like to put it on and then watch a TV series or movie or just browse the internet. Of course I have nothing against all the other masks if your skin needs a little kick they are really good too but I think that cloth mask is for lazy people, which is why I like them so much.
When I received this mask I was very excited to try it out, in fact I didn't touch it for a month or so because I was saving it for a special day.
A few days ago that special day finally had come. I read on the packaging that it is infused with a full 30ml bottle of serum, that is crazy. When you are feeling the packet you can totally feel how much of product is inside. The mask comes in two parts or three shall I say. There are two outer layers protecting the bio-cellular mask which is the one you put in your face. The protecting layers aren't cloth like which I think could be very useful as you can have three mask in one, but they are paper texture and they feel really rough although they are soaking with serum. I am a little sad to waste all that serum to be completely honest with you.
The second skin layer that goes on your face is the nicest thing I ever had on my face. It completely sticks to your skin and it is like cloudy clear colour and it makes you look a little scary. It is cut out really well so every inch of your skin is covered. I was a little concerned as the eye area wasn't too big so one of the sides of the mask was touching the bottom of my eyes and I was a little bit worried that some of product might get into my eye but alas it didn't.
It says to keep it for 20-25 minutes which I loved as I can enjoy it more although I ended up leaving it for 45 minutes. I had a few dried patches of the mask that then stuck to my face but I am not complaining.
It made my skin super soft and loved. I would say it did brighten a little. It is as if it corrected my face colour and it made my face looked more refreshed for a few days after I used the mask.
The price ranges from £8.50 (there a quite a few different ones) which is a lot for a mask but it is such a good mask I wanna say it is worth the price.
Now I am left with quite a lot of product in the packet which I kept, but the whole point of these masks is that the cloth helps the serum to sink into the skin. I will still try to use the serum even without the mask.
I think this mask would be really good for people with complicated skin and for those who get a lot of redness it is literally a spa treatment for your face.

What do you think about it? Have you ever tried it? Did you like it?

Talika Photo-Moisturiser

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
talika moisturiser, hydration lotion for your face

This is my first thing I tried from my GlossyBox and it is the only one I use daily. It says that it is suppose to react to light to lock in moisture into your skin. I am not sure if it does that but I do know that it gives my skin some love and I just like it. It feels super nice on your skin once you put on, it is gel like texture so you don't need a lot of it. It doesn't pull your skin or anything it is just a very nice everyday moisturiser. Talika Photo-Hydra doesn't leave your skin greasy or oil either which is what I love the best on those no make up days.
The price of this product is £27 for a 30ml tub.
I highly recommend this is you are looking for something nice on your skin.

December GlossyBox

As you may or may not know I am in love with Glossybox. I ordered my first November Glossybox box and then a few weeks later I saw that a new fancy box is coming for December too which I had to get. This one comes in special goldish/copperish box that say "Let it snow." with amazingly pretty ribbon that I used on one of my Christmas presents.
It is a beauty box picked by Youtuber Really-Ree and I like what is inside the box and also you get 6 products rather than usual 5.
Since I got this box in the middle of December and I am writing a blog post now, I got to try nearly all of these products.
I really love this box and I really love all the products in it. Now I will give a blog post to each product and talk more about them .

Diamond Heart Primer

Since I received my Glossybox I was exited to try everything in the box. The first thing I tried was this Base Primer from Emite make up brand. I have never heard of this brand and I was exited to try it out. It looked super snazzy but this is just a travel size. It is a light coral colour inside but it doesn't make your skin pink. The smell is also quite pleasant and not too harsh. The light reflective particles create a nice glow, it also is colour correcting hence why the coral colour. The whole idea of primers is to make your foundation stay on for longer. It is as if a primer becomes a glue to your skin but not in a bad way.
It is priced about £25 but as it is Swedish brand they usually price everything in euros. You can but this online on Emite website.
I recommend this to people who are struggling with foundation and also for those who want to look flawless without foundation because this primer does make you look flawless.

Beauty Box

I have known about Beauty Boxes even before they were IT but I never managed to get one.The first one I ever discovered was Glossybox. I have heard many good things about it. It uses really nice products and some of them are full size.
You can get different subscription but it usually cost £10 + p&p (which is £3.95) per box. You can order yours here.
You get a few leaflets in this. I had Graze box voucher, a thank you card from Glossybox and a card where all the products are listed and how to use them and their full size prices.
I will be doing 5 separate blog posts talking about the products in this box.
All I say now is that I am extremely happy with this box and I also think this would make a great gift for your beauty lover friends.

Magic Creme

OK not so magic. If you had kids or younger siblings you might see this creme in their nappy box but make no mistake it is not just to treat bottoms it also works as well on your skin as it does on babies bottoms.
I used to have a really weird rash on my hand it kinda looked like eczema but I never had it so I thought it couldn't have been. Then my friend had a baby few and she suggested to use this creme and I kidd you not it was gone in 5 days. No cremes ever worked they didn't even make it softer but this got rid of it in 5 days.
Then after I would use it for everything. For rash on my face or body, for cold sore on my lip, and or any skin conditions that need love.
It really does work trust me. I think there are a few types of Bepanthen some are like a moisturiser and others are very rich. This is very rich in texture and that is the one you want for your skin, it also has some medicine in it hence why it heals everything quickly.
It smells like sheeps which reminds me of Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour creme which is also very good for dried skin but it is more expensive.
The full name of this creme is Bepanthen Nappy Care Ointment and the 100g cost £7.17. You can find it pretty much everywhere: groceries, boots, superdrug, pharmacies.
Do not get put off by the name because it really is the best!

Cleansing Water

I have tried a few Micellar Waters some of them I really liked some of them had a weird reaction to my skin. I saw a lot of reviews about this Garnier Micellar Water, so I thought I would give it a try. I have heard a lot of comparisons to Bioderma but I yet to try it to tell you the difference.
To be completely honest I don't have the reason for useing it besides to clean my face after make up. I don't notice any difference after I use it, it is just a cleansing product for me that's all I use it for. I am just happy it doesn't give me a rash or makes my face itchy because that what usually happens.
I suppose this is a lot cheaper than Bioderma. It is priced at £3.99 whereas Bioderma cost £10,20 just for a half the size bottle.
It is a nice product for make up cleansing but you have to try it for yourself because it doesn't do much for me I just use it to make my skin happy and clean.

The Benefits of Coconut Oil

I am pretty sure you all heard something about coconut oil? Some use it for cooking, some for their body and some for hair. I use it for my hair and I also have a separate tub that I use for cooking.
I only just discovered about cooking with oil, I have heard people say good things about it but I never actually bough the oil to cook with. Once I made the granola bars, that I will do a post about, and I had lots of oil left so I started using it in cooking. I usually use it in the mornings when I have my scrambled eggs. Some times it doesn't taste of nothing sometimes it adds some nutty flavour to the food. I notice that it gives nutty flavour if I am frying broccoli and some runner beans with my scramble eggs. I think it works amazing with vegetables. One small thing about coconut oil is when you turn the flame right up and add something to the pan it releases a strange smell that is unpleasant but it goes away quickly, well if you have windows open it does.
Oil for hair is completely different topic. I actually love using it for my hair. I have naturally curly hair and whenever I use it, (when I use it I tend to run it from roots to the tips and do it the night before I wash my hair) it makes my hair alive. It gives back the curl to the hair and all the baby hairs around my face curl up even more and I love that effect. The curlier/crazier my hair is the better it looks. It does make my hair softer but then again my hair is always soft.
I feel like coconut oil doesn't have enough moisture for my skin so that is the reason why I don't use it on my skin, having said that a few months ago I had a disagreeing with my skin and it used to burn whenever I'd put foundation or moisturiser on my skin so I used coconut oils as it is natural... and I survived. It didn't reacted with my skin a single bit although I felt like I needed some moisture.

I recommend this if you have curly hair or you just want to give some love to your hair and scalp it is really great way to naturally treat your hair. Of course nothing will change in one use so give it a good try before judging it.

Vitamin E moisturiser

The Body Shop Range

I have read a lot about Clinique's moisture surge creme that is gel like texture which keeps your skin hydrated and then I saw the price, which was £34 for a 50ml tub and I changed my mind. Having said that I would like to try it one day and when I do I will tell you all about it.
Recently I was on the hunt for a night creme and I always wanted to go back to the Bodyshop to try the Vitamin E range as I wasn't that blown away by vitamin C range. I tried the creme before and I knew they do a really nice night creme from Vitamin E range but when I got the the shop I saw this Aqua Boost Sorbet  and it reminded me of the Clinique one.
The texture of this creme is gel like and it is quite cooling and I find it even tingly at times. You can also keep it on the fridge which then it will be a cooling creme for your face for the summer. I really like it, it keeps your face hydrated and not dry but it is not wet either. To be completely honest I would like a little bit more of a 'aqua boost' but that is just my preference. The smell is weird and I'd say unpleasant, it doesn't remind me of anything, although I must say, the smell is growing on me. The smell doesn't linger afterwards though which is always a good thing.
Its price is £13 for a 50ml tub which is normal Body shop skin care price.
This is a nice product to have. You can use at night time or day time or whenever you need a little boost. I would say it is more for combination to normal skin as it might be not enough moisture for dry skin so you'd need to use another moisturiser. I would recommend this if you are looking for something different than your normal moisturizer.

Moisturizer

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream

As always I was looking for a moisturiser. I think the best place to shop is at the airport. It is amazing that you can buy good brands at the airport and they come tax free. If you get to the airport way before your flight and you have a lot of time you can always walk around duty free shops and try things which is what I always do. I purposely get there early so I can shop.
I picked up this moisturiser because security took my moisturiser away so I was desperate for one. I really like this one. It is a simple moisturiser with nice smell that isn't strong. The cream didn't do much to be honest it just kept my skin in control which is why I liked it so much.
I recommend this moisturiser if you are looking for something that would just keep your skin moisturised without making it oily or gross and sticky.
This retails at £24 and it is a 50 ml container.
It is pricey but if you are looking for something that you will enjoy putting on I think it is worth it. After all we have to love our skin. :)

Moisturizer

The Body Shop

Vitamin C moisturizer

I was looking for a night cream and I heard  that The Body Shop Vitamin E range is really good, however when I got to The Body Shop there were so many creams to choose from and Vitamin C was the newest range that is in. The lady at the shop praised it so I bought it.
It says that it is suppose to brighten your skin and boost with hydration. It does brighten your skin but I think you can see a big difference if you have tanned skin. I have very fair skin so it doesn't make a massive difference to my skin it might just make me look more awake. It is a daily moisturizer but the lady at the shop said that many people use it at night and they would wake up with a bright and beautiful skin. Well I just wake up plumpy, I looked like I've been crying all night. Now I only use it during the day when I don't want to put my foundation on so it can brighten my skin a little and doesn't look oily.
It is a gel texture which is quite weird but a little goes a long way. I feel like after I apply it it goes like a little mask on your face and it is uncomfortable, then you get used to it. Also I don't think it is moisturizing enough.
It smells of oranges which is quite refreshing. I don't really like orangy smells but I quite like this one, it is not too strong or bitter.
I think it would be amazing if you have tanned skin and maybe even normal/ oily skin as I feel like it controls the oils as vitamin C would. If you don't I wouldn't buy it personally but you can try it to see how it works for you. I think if you buy something you can ask for a sample. Give it a try.

Yours Izabele

P.S. my skin will be different from yours so try first.

Bath Range

Zoella Tutti Fruity range

I will start with a body scrub (the one on the right) as it is my favorite product throughout the whole range. I love the smell, although I will talk about it more later on, I love that it is sugar and not salt scrub, I love the after effect it leaves on your skin and I love how much it massages your limbs.
As I said it is a sugar scrub which means it doesn't dry your skin as much as salt would and sometimes with salt scrubs I used to find that it stings my skin, which this scrub doesn't do. It is called Scrubbing me softly  and it literally does what it says. It leaves your skin silk soft afterwards and for quite some time. If I scrub in the evening, my skin would still be silk soft next morning and sometimes even throughout the day.
It is also a nice massage for your hands and your arms and your legs. Once I finish scrubbing by body my hands are so numb it literally scares all the heebeegeebees out of me.
The sent is quite sweet I would even say it is too sweet but it smells like sweets so you can tolerate it easily. I would say it is a summer smell. Now that it is colder outside and it get's darker and I am having more cosy nights I would like to use something that is autumny or wintery. Sent like vanilla or pumpkin spice. It is a shame that this product came out so late in the summer as I would have used it a lot throughout the summer. I think it is summery because when you use it the scent kind of reminds you of your childhood which gives you a lot of energy to do something productive and you would wish that the sun is shining outside, but that is not always the case.
The lotion on the other hand is not something I get exited about. To me it is just another lotion. It is quick absorbent and it kind of makes your skin moisturized but not for long. I am really lazy to moisturize so I would like a product to stay longer even though I am reaching for the starts when asking for longer miniaturization. You only need a little bit of the lotion so it will last you a good amount.
The scrub is £7 and the lotion is £5. You can find it at most superdrugs and also online.
I would highly recommend the scrub as it is everything you would want in a scrub. If you like really sweet scents you will love this range and smell but I do recommend to go and sniff before you buy it. I would also recommend this for a summer in particular. It's brilliant.

Face Oil

Detox oil

This post is going to be quite scientific, but don't worry I will try to explain everything in English.
I came across this product not expecting much. When you get over £30 of products from feelunique.com you get some samples. There are a bunch of sample of which you can choose from. You can choose 3 samples, I think. The bigger your purchase the more samples you can get. I saw a detox oil and I thought let me try this. It came in those perfume tubes and it lasted for about three or four nights. It smells weirdly and not pleasant at all but after first use I noticed a difference in my skin . It made my skin a lot clearer and brighter and softer. Now here comes the science.
Polyphenol is known as antioxidant which mean it prevents oxidation. You know when you cut an apple in half and leave it on your table it turns brown - that's oxidation. Your body does go through oxidation which damages your cells however, we get antioxidant through the foods we eat or vitamins we might take. This means that antioxidants are like a security, they help your cells from damage and also help your enzymes to produce and work. Polyphenol is also known for protecting against UV and increasing your cell growth. Because polyphenol is an acid it prevents from bad bacteria attacking your body or sin for this instance, which means it will kill the bacteria that is causing pimples and spots.
This Detox Oil is priced at £29 and it comes in 30ml glass bottle with a pipette. You only need about 6 to 7 drops so it will last you quite a bit. There is a whole detox range for people with really problematic skin. I would recommend this if you want to keep your skin clear (and I don't mean you never going to get spost, you will just not as much or it will go away faster) or you have really problematic skin. It is a pricey product but if you are struggling it is worth the investment.

Foundation

Bare Minerals.

Recently I am going on about autumn and cold months and lipsticks I wanna wear so this post is about foundation. As I have quite good skin I tend to stay away from foundations during the summer. Yes, of course I wear them occasionally but not often. However, now that it is chilly outside and you'd want your face to stay protected foundation is a path you could take.
I have a few of my favorites but I hate shopping for foundations because they never suit me, it's not my shade, it's sticky. I tend to stick to one or two I know and love.
I got this one from TKMaxx which was a good price (£20 and it came with two brushes) but it's original price is £30-£40.
This foundation has a good coverage and it is very buildable. I love their concealer and I love their veil which is just a thin layer to give it a finished look. On me this foundation doesn't get caky or drys my skin. I always use moisturizer under my foundations and I believe it holds better and is better for my skin. My favorite is Embryolisse. (You can read about it here.)
If you want something that is more of a luxury and you are looking for something you definitely wanna use for a long time and love you should check out bare minerals if you haven't tried it.

Skin care

Cleansing!

OK I take my skin for granted. I've got good skin and I do get breakouts and I have a lot of blackheads that I tent to pick A LOT! (Bad Izabele) Please don't do it, you just gonna spread the bacteria and eventually get even more spots.
Having said that I do try to take care of my skin. I am only 20 years old so I think I don't need any serums that are packed with ageing stopping ingredients. During that day I have a selection of moisturizers that I use depending on my make up and I only give my skin a little pumper at night. Maybe that's not enough but my skin is still happy. (touch wood)
After a long day I would use eye remover to take of my eye make-up, (if I am wearing foundation I would run the same cotton pad across my face) then I take Garnier Micellar water and clean my face. I take a Nip+Fab  cleansing pad to clean my face again. It is packed with lots of acids to kill the bacteria on your skin; the same bacteria that make your spots appear. My final step is to wash my face with Clearasil face wash which leaves my skin squeaking clean, literally. Because you strip your skin of it's natural oils you will be in desperate need of moisturizing. Your skin would feel dry like a piece of paper and it is super uncomfortable.
Nip+Fab cleansing pads I found in Superdrug and they were on a deal so I paid £3.59 but originally it cost about £6. This is a good price as First AID cleansing pads are over £20 and it does pretty similar job.
Clearasil  gel wash I got from Boots for £5.99 however, I am sure you would find it everywhere even in super markets.
I've been using this combination for over a week and I must say it did prevent a lot of spots (as I was coming to that time of month and usually I get bad breakouts). Of course you must try yourself to know if it works for you. It might be a bit too much for your skin as it literally leaves your skin dry. I think this would be amazing for people with oily skin and if you have acne.

If you wanna know more about skincare and what ingredients you should be using to help with your spots you should read Caroline Hirons' blog.

Yours Izabele
xoxo

P.S. Please do not quote me as I am only telling my experience and how it was for me. It could be so much better for you or so much worse. We are all different.
