Music recognition

As a musician my post should be more about music. Let me open you up to the crazy talented world that is out there and that you probably never seen and not only will I just show you some complex music but I will the explain how to listen to it.
First up is Ravel with his Bolero symphony. Incredible piece! Very easy to listen and to tune in your ear. This piece does require your attention it is only 15 minutes so please give it all you can.

Start by really acknowledging the fact what is there - a rhythm and a melody. You don't need anything else. Once your ear hears the drum and the melody it will automatically pick up strings that are adding to the rhythm. Just keep your focus there. It will change instruments and it will build up dynamically (which is sound) but this doesn't change what is there - a rhythm and a melody. As the time goes on the rhythm becomes heavier and the melody becomes stronger.
I'd suggest you to think how it makes you feel as the piece has one melody that changes a little bit, going round and round. What is it that still has your attention? What is it that doesn't bore you? How does the ending make you feel? Why is it intriguing?

Tell me what you think?

Book

'If I stay'

I have mentioned this book before but this book needs to be talked about especially if you are a musician!
I won't go into what actually happens in the book but I will say it is all about the music. This books explains how music feels and how can it take up so much of your existence. The film is good but I always find that when you read the book you connect with the characters so much and you really get into the book. It is as if those characters are your friends and they are telling you their story. This is the reason why I love books.
It is about a cellist girl that has to make a very big decision, she doesn't know how to go about it but she fill finally decide. It is also a series of books so I cannot wait to get my hands on the next one and tell you all about it.
I highly highly recommend this book if you wanna read about family and music and high school teenagers. This book will make you cry and laugh and feel all sorts of fuzzy feelings.

Being Rebellious

Just do it!

I can't give you a lot of details of what exactly happened when and where as I would be told of but I can tell you a bit about me being rebellious and how it felt.

I was working a few days ago at a famous venue in London. David  Gilmour (lead giutarist of Pink Floyd) was playing and I had to look after 8 people and serve them drinks and food. I would only be able to interact with the people I was looking after before the show and in the interval. Which means I was allowed to stay with them in the auditorium. Whilst the show is on I had to sit in the basement where you cannot hear much.
So me and my colleague we went for a hunt to listen David play and although we could hear it in the corridor we wanted to get it. And we did.
It was amazing. Gimlour's playing was amazing and everything was live.
The whole auditorium was full there were no spaces in balconies and the gallery (which is the top of the top where you have to stand). It was full house packed with people.
To be able to go to such a concert is amazing but when you go there for free it is so personal. I was standing there and I was just blown away by music and emotion and how many people are there and the atmosphere. Also where we were standing we had the best view of the stage which just brought my excitement to the max! It is a memory I am going to treasure for life.
If you get a chance to do something rebellious which you are not allowed to do, please do it. It feels so good and naughty but it is the greatest feeling in the world. To be honest they aren't going to kill you they might just tell you off. You have nothing to lose.
I wish one day I'd go to such a concert as it was just mind-blowing amazing.

Song

Music.

Music is my life. Music was in my life since I can remember and over the year I managed to acquire a very strange taste. I like everything. I am an old school music kid I still think it's the best music because it's dance it can make you feel things or just relax while you sing along to the tunes you now so well. Then when I started piano lessons I got into classical music and I still am very much into classicals.
I think the hardest part of liking so much music is to have your favorite group/artist/band. Now I found quite a few that I will love forever and I love everything of them Pentatonix that is. It is an accapela group that started by doing a lot of covers and now is releasing their original album.
At first they were good with covers but now I feel like they grown so much and found their voice so doing covers is just not enough for them, they are so much better than that. Can't Sleep Love  is their first single released from the new album and I LOVE IT SOOOO MUCH!!!!
It's upbeat and sassy and dancy and ohhh my their voices......
If you have been living under a rock and never heard of them GO AND LISTEN TO THEM NOW!!! They are definitely worth your time and I can guarantee you you will like them.
Here's a link to Can't Sleep Love : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFCxiKXtKTI
Watch it, Enjoy it, Love it, Cherish it.
