Bullying

Bullying

To be honest I don't have much to say on this matter nor there is much to say. I really wanted to write a blog post about bullying but once I started writing I realized there isn't much to say about it. Bullying differs in intensity (verbal or physical) and also reasons differ for bullying. However, IT IS NOT OKAY to be bullied or to bully. It can be from something really mild that you'd take as a joke to something super serious where you can actually really hurt a person if not kill them. There has been many books written about these situations which most of them are based on true facts.
Bullying impacts other peoples lives so much and I do think people should be punished for it.
A lot of bullying can cause other people to be depressed and hate themselves to the point where they'd become anorexic, self harm or even attempt a suicide.
There is many ways to prevent bullies by telling teachers (as most cases happen at school), or telling parents, or telling others, or even confront it yourself.
I have been bullied a lot, mainly because I was chubbier than others and once I had a mean comment about my ears. The ear incident stuck to me so much I actually have had an operation to get my ears tucked in. As for my weight I couldn't do much because of medical reason which I didn't go around telling people about. It hurt badly but with more mean comments I received the more immune I became to them. My weight does not defy me in any way.
It is hard to say stop to those comments or get them out of your head but it is not impossible although you must be very strong to stop them from getting into you. But there is a bright side, you will become immune to it with age and with different people you'll meet and then you can just push the negativity away and carry on with your life. Having said that the bullying doesn't stop when you grow up. There are different ways and sneaky ways to bully others but you will be able to see it.
I was learning how to drive with an instructor and a car drove into my boot and he claimed that it was my fault. After lots of arguments and disagreements with my instructor the man finally said he will sort it out quietly. While they where filling out papers and stuff his wife with a child in her arms walked passed me and she said " learn how to drive" then she looked at me and said " and lose some weight". Because I was so shocked after the whole incident my mind hadn't process what she said straight away and only once she walked away I realised what she'd said but it was too late to reply to her. By the way she was about 30 years old. The next lesson I had with my instructor he said I was a bigger person for not saying anything in return. For about a few months it hurt and every time I'd tell this story I'd tear up but thinking back I did do a good thing for not responding to her comment. To be honest she probably wasn't having a good time with family or something was on her mind so she had to release her venom before she exploded. Did she say a good thing or even something that made sense? No she hasn't, she only showed her desperate levels. However what have I done or my weight has done to her life to deserve such a comment? Nothing, so why should I care. They say karma is a pretty thing it will always come back to bite you in the arse.
I suppose bullying is one of the reasons why confidence issues exist. It is not just us who put a lot of pressure on ourselves but also everyone around us. Having said that learning how to love yourself is a key thing here. No matter what others will say about you will only reflect what others are experiencing which has nothing to do with you.

What Sally says of Susan says more of Sally than of Susan.

What are your stories about bullying? How do you keep strong?

Confidence

Confidence

I suppose everyone has confidence issues. Whether those issues arose from bullying is another topic.

We have issues because our hair isn't as full, or as shiny, or curly, or straight, as the girls' on the bus next to us. Because models have perfect bodies and we don't. Because our faces don't look how we want them to look. Because certain make up look doesn't suit us. Or because there are other flaws that we might have.
Look at yourself in the mirror and tell me that there isn't a thing you don't like? Your eye colour? Your nose shape? Your lips? What about those dimples or freckles? Hair? No? There must be a thing, it could be the smallest feature that you like! Nails, fingers, toes, legs, arms?
Well if there is then you are one step into loving yourself. If there isn't then look closer.
Now look deeper: smile, make a goofy face, make angry expression, found any new features you like? Or did that made you laugh? (Which is also loving yourself.)
If mirrors can show our beauty why do we choose to only see the bad things? Why do we compare ourselves to other? Why do we think people with a better body or prettier face have a better/happier life? Because I can guarantee you that they don't.
Only if person is truly in love with themselves would he see how amazing and worthy he is.
So stop comparing yourself to photoshopped magazine models, or pop starts. They are in the industry there they have to look a certain way so they can show what designers preach to make you buy the things and what the things that they design and wear. It is all just the image and your envy. Everything has to be looking perfect so YOU would buy their clothing or accessory they WANT you to buy.

There is so much more to you than looks, see that in yourself and no matter what magazines you read or mean comments you get you must believe in yourself. You are unique. You are the only one in this world. See yourself as worthy no matter how many times you've been criticized by anyone - because that is you. Worthy and beautiful.
