Motivation

How to re-connect

I am a musician and although I am super passionate about music (but I don't always show it) I lose connection with it easily. It would make me upset and not wanting to stay in the music. Aha that bad.
Over the years I found a few ways to re-connect with music and I am sure it might help you too with whatever you want to re-connect.
I'm a fact nerd, I like facts. I like knowing about them, I like people telling me about them. So I read a lot: articles, books, magazines, newspaper. I like hearing about accomplished musicians and successful people in general. I also like to watch them work. I am quite envious person but not in a way where I wish someone bad but in a way where it motivates you to do better.

My first re-connecting way is to watch people work. To me is all about live performances as I can feel so much. The emotion, the work, the success and it overwhelms me as I know what the player is feeling too because I have been in their shoes.

Another easiest way to re-connecting is to watch movies and shows. There is so many to choose from about music and law and teaching and everything that you will need.
The motivation ignites the passion in your which is the same connectedness we are talking about here.

Another great way which I only just realized is through books. Mainly because I read 'If I Stay' and it is a book about cellist girl. In the book she talks a lot of music and how it feels which literally gave me goosebumps. That was the envy in me to do what she had done.
But it is not just subject related books that could motivate you to re-connect but also self help books. I know not many people believe them and I don't blame you if you don't but sometimes whatever the gurus are preaching actually makes sense and you start seeing the light in the tunnel. My recent one is 'The Power Of Now' by Eckhart Tolle it is a lot about consciousness and how to connect with it and what happens when you do. Personally I would recommend this book, it is really hard to read and it is not for everyone but if you are in the right mindset for the book you will absolutely love it.

Another way that I could think of is to lock yourself with the subject you are trying to re-connect with. Whether it is an instrument and calculator or a book just do it. It takes a lot of guts to go this route but once you learned something this way you will be over the moon and you will feel powerful.

What other ways do you use for re-connecting?

Yours Izabele
xoxo
